This Bordeaux style red is full, rich and well balanced. Succulent aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant and plum are deepened by soft silky tannins and an extended black pepper finish.

G R O W I N G C O N D I T I O N S
The grapes come from our Similkameen Vineyard in Cawston and Sunrise Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The 2006 season started off with light steady rain in the spring followed by ideal summer weather with a short-lived heat wave at the end of July. It continued relatively warm into late September, which provided us with an extended growing season that allowed the grapes to further develop flavours and acidity.
The grapes were hand harvested between October 21st and October 25th.
W I N E M A K I N G N O T E S
The Summit is our Bordeaux-style blend made up of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The three varietals were individually cold soaked for 5 days to extract colour, flavour and tannins from the grape skins. This was followed by a small-batch ferment in stainless steel tanks before being gently pressed and racked into one and two-year old French oak barrels. The wine was then aged for 18 months to add more depth and complexity.
